Freckles Polish The Pitch Perfect Collection Swatch & Review

Hi everyone! I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunny weather yesterday. Hopefully summer isn't over yet!

Today I have the new Freckles Polish The Pitch Perfect Collection to show you! Freckles Polish is a UK indie brand created by Julieann. Julieann creates everything herself from scratch in small batches. Everything is cruelty free and 4 or 5 free (depending on the polish!).

The Pitch Perfect Collection is created for Autumn 2015 and it consists of 12 polishes! It will be released on the 28th of August. I have 6 to show you. Three of them are linear holographic, something Julieann is aaaamazing at. I want to buy all of her linear holographs! The other half of the polishes are scattered holographic polishes. The colours, although still being quite bright, are definitely made for Autumn. They're a little darker and more muted than previous collections.

As always, I also have live swatches of these on my youtube channel!

The first photo is taken with flash, the second is taken in my studio and the macro is taken in direct sunlight.

First up is The Treblemakes.

This is a deep plum linear holographic polish.

This is quite similar to The Seven Wonders, which I reviewed here, but this is a little bit lighter and warmer toned.

The application is super easy, and I didn't except anything else!

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

The first coat is a little sheer and you can see a visible nail line.

The second coat deepens up the colour and covers everything up.

The polish has a great consistency, not too thin or thick.

I didn't use any topcoat for the swatch.

Next up is Fat Amy.

This is a raspberry linear holographic.

This is very bright, and it photographed a little brighter than in real life, but if you compare it to the neons from the previous collection, swatched here, it's definitely a lot more muted and toned down.

It was a little tricky to really capture the holo in this polish because it's such a saturated raspberry pink. It's definitely there and much more obvious in real life. You'll be able to see more holo in the sunshine macro below.

The application was the same as The Treblemakers.

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

It is a very opaque polish but after 1 coat you can still see a slight visible nail line so it does need a second coat.

The second coat also deepens the colour.

Again I didn't use a topcoat for the photo.

Next up is A-Ca-Awesome.

This is a real linear holographic.

It sits right in the middle of a blue and a green, but in some lights it leans much more green than blue.

This is the last of the 3 linear holographics.

Again it was a little tricky to capture that holo, but you can see from the bottle it is very strong!

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

The first coat is a little more sheer than the previous two polishes, but the second coat completely covers up the nail line.

The second coat also deepens up the colour.

The formula is very smooth, easy to work with, not patchy or streaky.

The first scattered holographic is Bulletproof.

This is a white silvery scattered holographic polish in a metallic pearly finish.

Again I did struggle to capture the holo in the flash photo, but the sunlight macro shows it a lot better.

Unfortunately while I was swatching these it was super dark and rainy and horrible outside!!

I used 3 coats for the swatch and 2 thicker coats for the macro.

You can still see a visible nail line in the flash photo above, but in real life there was no visible nail line, as the studio shot shows.

The first coat was very sheer, but it did build up very easily.

Julieann warned me that the formula of these polishes would be slighter thicker due to the pigments used, but I didn't notice any significant difference during application. It was really easy to apply, it wasn't too thick or too thin and it spread evenly on my nails.

These do dry with a slightly textured finish so I would recommend using a topcoat to smooth it all out and make the glitters pop.

(sorry about the cat hair in the photo below, I had very limited sunlight so had to swatch quick!!)

Next is We're Back Pitches.

This is a green toned teal scattered holographic polish.

It's right in the middle of a teal and a green, but it's definitely more green than A-Ca-Awesome.

Again this is in a metallic pearly type of base.

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

The first coat was a little on the sheer side, but not as sheer as Bulletproof. It definitely did need the second coat to cover up my nail line and deepen the colour.

Again it also needs a topcoat since these polishes dry with a bit of a textured finish. A topcoat will smooth everything out and make the glitter pop.

Last up is I've Been Shot and this is a burnt red scattered holographic polish with a little bit of orange.

This is the most holographic out of the 3 scattered holos and it's also the most vibrant, while still being a little muted.

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

The first coat was a little sheer and you could see a visible nail line. It was also a lot more orange toned.

The second coat covered up my nail line and deepened the colour into a more red tone.

Again I did apply topcoat for the swatch.

Those are the 6 polishes I received from the new The Pitch Perfect Collection by Freckles Polish. Again the collection consists of 12 polishes and I can't wait to see the rest!! My favourite of the linear holographs is The Troublemakers, that deep plum colour. The holo is so vibrant and I think it's the perfect shade for Autumn. My favourite from the scattered holos is I've Been Shot. Again, it has the strongest holo, but I'm also a sucker for anything red!

This collection launches on the 28th of August so make sure to keep an eye out on Freckles Polish Instagram and Etsy pages. I've already seen a gorgeous purple scattered holographic polish I've got my eye on!
