Kandy Colors Kandy Desserts Collection Swatch & Review

The UK indie brand Kandy Colors has just released a Kandy Desserts Collection. The collection consists of 6 dessert inspired creme polishes. I received two to review Avocado Smoothie and Strawberry & Cream.

You can buy the entire collection from Kandy Colors for £29.79 full size (10ml) or £17.00 for minis (5ml). They retail for £5.45 each for the full sized bottles.

First up is Avocado Smoothie.

I have to be honest, this isn't a colour I would normally buy. That being said, this looked really interesting and I think it's something I'd get a lot of use out of in the cooler Autumn months.

It's a muted grey toned green. It's very hard to describe! It also has a silver shimmer running throughout giving it a bit of a pearly shine. It does not have any visible brush strokes.

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

It was almost fully opaque in 1 coat, and you could easily get away with wearing 1. I decided to add a second coat as it deepened the colour.

It has a very easy formula with a great consistency. It's not too thick or too thin. It dries quick and very glossy.

The second colour is Strawberry & Cream.

This is definitely a little more my style. This is a very pale pinky lilac shade with a stunning blue shimmer running through.

In dull lights you can't really see the shimmer, but in the sun it's very visible. It's a really nice contrast with the sweet colour.

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

The first coat was slightly streaky but the second coat covered everything up.

Again it has a very smooth formula, it's slightly thicker than Avocado Smoothie, but still very easy to work with.

It dries quick and with a bit of a dull gloss, so I did apply a topcoat. It definitely isn't necessary.

Kandy Colors Grown & Sexy Collection Swatch and Review

I have the Grown & Sexy collection to show you today by Kandy Colors. Kandy Colors is a UK indie brand that's 5 free and cruelty free. All of their nail polishes are quick drying and are usually opaque in 1-2 coats (depending on the finish).

The Grown & Sexy collection consists of 4 nail polishes: 2 cremes, 1 crelly and one jelly. They're all very warm sexy bold colours which I love! Especially now that the weather has been getting warmer and sunnier.

These are the mini bottles. The full size bottles are 10ml and retail between £5.20 and £5.50.

Kandy Colors Swatches

I'm starting to really fall in love with indies. I have a whole Alex drawer from Ikea dedication to my small but growing indies! Today I'm writing about Kandy Colors, a UK indie brand.

Kandy Colors is based in the UK, is 5 free and cruelty free! They sell a wide range of nail polishes from cremes to glitters and everything in between as well as cuticle oils! She regularly does discounts so make sure to keep an eye out on her website and instagram!

First up is this absolutely beautiful shade called Rhose.

Rhose is a gorgeous strawberry pink with small silver holographic glitter. The formula is a little thick meaning that I only needed 1 coat! ONE coat for the swatch. I was very impressed.

The downside is that because it's a thicker opaque formula all the holographic glitter was completely lost, but it still dried down to quite a gritty finish. I had to use 2 coats of top coat to smooth it all out.

When I emailed Haydawn from Kandy Colors she explained to me that they're reformulating the polish and removing the glitter. It's just going to be a super opaque gorgeous strawberry pink with a glossy non gritty finish.

This is the perfect colour for spring. It's a bright pop of colour, but it's definitely not close to a neon. A great transition colour.

The second colour I received is Vamps Lair. This is the total complete opposite of the bubbly happy Rhose. This is very dark and vampy and I was worried I wouldn't like it...

This is a little more sheer and I applied two coats for the swatch. This is a colour that builds up beautifully. One coat is a little sheer but completely even purple. Adding a second coat darkens the colour and covers the nail line.

It's a very dark eggplant purple with very small shimmer. The shimmer is still very visible on the nail but doesn't turn into a frosty finish.

I didn't apply topcoat to the swatch, it's glossy all on its own!


I'm very impressed with the brand Kandy Colors. It's great that it's a UK brand, 5 free and cruelty free. Both Rhose and Vamps Lair have great easy to work with formulas. These are the mini bottles of 5ml, but the full size bottles (10ml) retail for £5.50.
