'Ard As Nails Tindledale Collection Review

Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've last blogged. My YouTube channel kind of took over and my blog got left behind... but iMovie isn't working and I really wanted to get a review up so what better way to get back into blogging!

Today I have three stunning 'Ard As Nails polishes to show you. 'Ard As Nails is a relatively new UK 5 free indie brand. They are created by the owner of Soap Dodger, and I'm so happy she decided to brand out into nail polish. This has quickly become one of my favourite new indie brands! They have some of the best creme polishes ever, as well as some gorgeous holos and colour shifting polishes.

The three polishes I have to show you today are from the Tindledale collection. The first polish is a stunning raspberry scattered holographic polish called Plum Crumble At Kitty's Cafe.

For the swatch I used 2 coats plus topcoat. It was almost fully opaque in just 1 coat, and if you're in a rush you can definitely get away with just 1 coat, but the second coat slightly deepened up the colour and completely covered my nail line.

It dries a little dull, like most holos do, so I did apply a topcoat to make it nice and glossy.

The formula was incredibly easy to work with. For being such an opaque polish, the formula was very smooth and just the right consistency.

The second polish is this silver linear holographic called Twinkling Night Over The Village Green.

This is a slightly more charcoal silver than most other silver holos, which is a nice change in my collection.

The linear holo isn't quite as strong as others in dull lighting, but as soon as the sun (or my phone's torch..) hits it it comes alive.

For the swatch I used 3 coats. It was a little on the thin side as was a little sheer. It built up really nicely though and the coats dried very quickly.

It was fully opaque in 3 coats. Again I used a topcoat for the swatch photos as holos do tend to dry a little dull.

I was amazed by how beautiful this is at its full potential. STUNNING!

The last polish is Honeysuckle Bliss in the Lane. This is a yellowy golden flakie polish.

This really reminds me of OPI Goldeneye, but this is slightly more yellow toned. It's the same concept though.

I used 3 coats for full opacity, although this is a polish that could also be sponged on for full opacity.

The coats dried very quickly so it wasn't an issue having to apply 3 coats. It's a very dense flakie so although you could use it as a topper, I would recommend wearing it on its own.

This was so stunning in real life, it's so reflective and just shines off your nails, which is definitely something I need with this depressing grey weather in the UK! It's like sunshine on your nails!

Those are the 3 'Ard As Nails polishes I have to show you. I am in love with them, like ALL the other 'Ard As Nails polishes I own!

As soon as iMovie decides to start working again I'll upload the video and link it here, but this blog post will have to do for now!

Let me know which one of these polishes is your favourite! Have you tried 'Ard As Nails?

Watermarble Nail Art - Monthly Challenge

Last month I took part in a monthly nail art challenge, not only is there a different theme every couple of days, but I'm doing bestie twin nails for every theme! The theme for the 23rd of September was Marble and I collaborated with @fun.nails.love from IG. We wanted to create a mermaid tail kind of watermarble but both use a different colour scheme. I went for pink and Galia went for purple!

I didn't create a tutorial, honestly dipping my hand in the water and all that clean up... I think it would turn into a huge mess!!

I started off with a white base - 'Ard As Nails White Van Girl.

I then applied a HUGE amount of Practical Magic by Charming Tale around my nails. It's a liquid latex and will REALLY help with clean up.

For marbling I use room temperature bottled water. This works best for me. I added drops from 'Ard As Nails Sharona (nude), Juju (barbie pink) and Gregory's Girl (berry). The polishes spread really easily on the surface of the water. The only one that didn't spread as well was Juju, but I didn't really have any issues.

To get these really thin lines I first drew the floral design. Then I dragged it back and forth. This way the colours are mixed better. I wasn't 100% happy yet so I actually dragged the polish up and down to get the lines even thinner.

I then dipped my fingers in the water (one by one!), removed the liquid latex and did a little bit of cleaning around my cuticles. I finished off with a glossy topcoat.

That's it!

Mosaic Nail Art Tutorial - Monthly Challenge

This month I'm taking part in #clairestell8sept monthly challenge! Every couple of days there is a different theme. To make it even crazier for myself, I actually decided to do #bestietwinnails for every theme!

Check out the other posts here!

For the 9th of September the theme was mosaic and I collaborated with Shakuh_05 from Instagram.

This design is inspired by @MaryMonkett.

I have a tutorial for these on my YouTube channel!

I started off with a nude base using 'Ard As Nails Sharona.

I then used the dry brush technique and applied brush strokes of different neutral colours. I used Pretty Serious Presence (white), OPI Designer De Better (shimmer), OPI I Sâo Paulo Over There (brown), and just to blend it all together I applied 'Ard As Nails Sharona over the top.

I then applied a fast drying topcoat and waited a good 10 minutes.

I then used a geometric stencil from Nail Mail for the triangle design.

I just applied the whole stencil onto my nail and filled in the triangles that I wanted using a black nail polish - Pretty Serious Absence.

I then carefully pulled the stencil off - while the nail polish was still wet! I waited another 5-10 minutes and then applied a topcoat.

That's it!

'Ard As Nails Swatch & Review

Today will be a very quick blog post since I'm a little behind my work load!!

I have some more 'Ard As Nails polishes to show you! Kat, the creator of 'Ard As Nails, has been so lovely and sent me these few to review and photograph.

'Ard As Nails is created by the brand Soap Dodger, who until recently only created handmade bath and body products. They have branched out into a line of gorgeous nail polishes.

At the moment there are two collections. Creme polishes and Colour Shift polishes. Today I have a bit of a random mix to show you.

As always I have LIVE SWATCHES of these on my YouTube channel

First up is Dee Dee.

This is a gorgeous creamy sky blue.

Now the sky in England hasn't quite looked that colour for a while now... Mostly white or grey!

This has an incredible formula, as I have come to expect from 'Ard As Nails.

I used 2 coats for the swatch and no topcoat.

The first coat was slightly streaky, so it did require a second coat. It dried quickly and to a glossy finish.

Next up is Olly.

This is beautiful pale lilac shade.

This had the same formula as Dee Dee.

It's very smooth and easy to work with. It has the perfect consistency where it's slightly thicker, but incredibly easy to apply. The slight thickness means that it's very opaque.

I used 2 coats for the swatch and no topcoat.

I'm not sure when these two polishes will be released as Kat wasn't sure about releasing them. I hope she does ;)

Next up is an unnamed holographic polish.

This hasn't been released yet, but 'Ard As Nails will be releasing a whole holographic collection sometime soon!

This is a bright orange. The holo is definitely there but I had trouble photographic it because it's such a saturated base colour. And, of course, England is lacking some sun.

The formula on this is just as smooth and easy to work with as the others, but this is a little bit more crelly-like.

I used 3 coats for the swatch.

The last polish is from the recently released Colour Shifting collection. The collection was released on the 1st of September and it consists of 4 colours. I have reviewed 2 here.

This shade is called Emma and it shifts from this bright green to a blue.

I applied 2 coats over black. All the colour shifting polishes need to be applied over a black base as they are very sheer on their own. It also transforms the colour and makes them pop. As you can see it looks very different in the bottle!

'Ard As Nails Colour Shifting Polishes Swatch & Review

Hi everyone! Today I have some more 'Ard As Nails polishes to share with you! 'Ard As Nails is a brand new UK indie brand created by Soap Dodger, a handmade bath & body care shop. They've recently branched out into creating home fragrances and nail polishes! Check out my first review to see some of their gorrrrrgeous creme, jelly and holographic polishes!

The polishes I have today are part of the soon to be released Colour Shifting polishes. I don't think these have names yet so I'll be referring to them as their shifting colours. There are 4 polishes in this collection. They're very sheer polishes so need to be applied over a black base to make the colours pop and to get the most out of the shift.

As always I have LIVE SWATCHES of these on my YouTube channel.

First up is this super vibrant blue.

This is a multi chrome and reflects blue, purple and pink. As you can see it looks totally different in the bottle than on my nails and that's because of the black base.

I applied 2 coats over Ulta3 Black Satin.

The colour shift is seriously amazing.

I have a harder time to pick up the colour shift in my studio than I did in "real" lighting. When I was sitting downstairs editing my video I couldn't stop staring at my nails. One minute they look blue, the next they look pink.

The blue is incredibly vibrant. I think this would be a fantastic polish for the Autumn. It's still very bright for a multi chrome, but it has a little mystery and darkness to it.

If you check out my live swatches you'll see the polish in action.

Next is a yellow gold to fuchsia duo chrome.

Again I used 2 coats over Ulta3 Black Satin.

The shift in this polish is a little more apparent than the previous polish. For the blue/purple/pink multi chrome when you look at it directly from the front all you see is blue, whereas this one you can see fuchsia in the middle and gold around the edges.

This polish reminds me of Autumn leaves.

In England we don't get the super bright multi coloured trees, but when I lived in New Jersey the trees in Autumn would look like a painting with a hundred different colours.

This is something I'd love to wear around the start of Autumn, when the trees start changing colour, the leaves have fallen on the ground and it's time for pumpkins with EVERYTHING.... sometimes I wish I was back in America, the UK just doesn't go all out!

Anyway back to the polish! Again the colours are very vibrant, especially the fuchsia and the colour shift is much more obvious in "real" lighting than my studio.

Check out my youtube video to see the colour shift in action!

Check out Soap Dodger's website for all polishes. At the moment there are only creme polishes available (which have incredible formulas!!) but a few collections are in the making, including this colour shifting collection, holographics and maybe even some gorgeous bright neons!

'Ard As Nails Swatch & Review

Today I have swatches of the brand new indie nail polish line called 'Ard As Nails. This is created by the brand Soap Dodger and they've recently expanded into nail polish! Soap Dodgers is a family run company set up in 2013 specialising in bath and body products. Earlier this year they also expanded into home fragrances. All their products follow the UK and EU regulations, they're not tested on animals and contain no harsh ingredients. Most products can be used for people with sensitive skin. Their nail polish line is the same. It's 5 free and cruelty free. The nail polishes cost £5.50 each for a 15ml bottle. At the moment they have an introductory offer where you buy 4 nail polishes for £18 and pay no postage.

I received 4 nail polishes to swatch. 2 cremes, 1 jelly and a holo.

The polishes come in a square bottle and the cap is removable for easy grip and application.

As always, I have LIVE SWATCHES of these on my YouTube channel!

First up is Dolly's Day.

This is a pink coral creme polish. It's very bright, definitely not neon but still very very bright.

This photographed slightly darker than it is in person - my camera has issues with pinky corals....

The application was incredibly easy.

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

It was almost fully opaque on 1 coat, but it had very slight unevenness and it did need a second coat.

It dried quickly and very glossy.

Next up is Crime Scene.

Is this not the most perfect Autumn red ever?!

Crime Scene is a jelly polish, meaning it's very sheer and build able. Below I will show some photos of how 1 and 2 coats compares to the colour in the bottle.

This is such a deep gorgeous rich red. I think Crime Scene is an excellent name because it looks like blood. To me it reminds me of a glass of Merlot!

I used 3 coats for the swatch.

The application was very even, and if you like the sheer look you could definitely do fewer coats.

I reckon if I added 1 more coat it would be as dark as in the bottle

It dries super super glossy. It's touch dry pretty quick, but it's still dentable.

The formula was a little bit thinner than the other polishes because it's a jelly. In the live swatches you'll see I had a bit too much on my index finger and I had to brush some off. Once you're aware of the thinner formula it's very easy to work with.

1 coat

2 coats

Next up is this holographic tester polish. It's still in the testing phase so it doesn't have an official name.

This is a beautiful raspberry red with a linear holographic effect.

I used 2 coats for the swatch.

There is a very slight visible nail line, but it's not very apparent in person.

The first coat was on the sheer side, but the second coat deepened the colour and covered up my nail line.

The macro shot is in direct sunlight. It's so gorgeous!!

The last polish I received to review is Sharona.

This is a beige nude and it's so beautiful!! I used to love pinky nudes, but I feel like these beige ivory type nudes are just so elegant, chic and sophisticated.

This had the most amazing formula.

It was almost fully opaque in just 1 coat!!

If you're in a rush you could definitely get away with just 1 coat, but I applied 2 for the swatch as I had very slight unevenness.

Again it dries to a glossy finish so no topcoat needed.

I'm so impressed with this new line of nail polishes by 'Ard As Nails. The cremes are super creamy and opaque and easy to work with. The jelly, Crime Scene, is probably my favourite, together with Sharona. But it's honestly so hard to choose!

Check out Soap Dodger's website for all their products and check out 'Ard As Nails on Instagram for more swatches!
